Disadvantages of Animal Testing:

Each year many animals are used to test drugs and products before they are opened to the human market. Although animal testing is good for people, there are also many downsides to it . About 10% of the animals in the world are used for testing drugs, cosmetics, pesticides, food additives, and other health products to help humans with sickness and health problems. New products are starting to be tested on animals such as cancer drugs, soaps, and shampoos. When animals get tested they are poisoned and sometimes put to death. When these animals are poisoned they have a good chance to survive, but if it is really bad they will most likely die within 2-3 weeks. About 100 million cats and 54 million dogs are born each year. Out of that many cats and dogs, 16 million cats and dogs are put to death in animal shelters due to animal testing. Most of the animals that get tested are breed for the specific purpose of testing. The thing about animal testing is that most of the animals don't get pain killers while tested.
